History
|
Classic example of
square-bilged scow dating from early 1900's.
deck scow with no hold space, all cargo,
which was mainly sand, shingle or timber,
carried on open deck. In more recent years
used to carry general cargo between Auckland
and Waiheke Island in Hauraki Gulf. Laid
up in late sixties, and now reported to
be in nearly restored condition at Hokianga
on north-west coast of North Island.
